When stormwater is absorbed into soil, it is filtered and ultimately replenishes aquifers or flows into streams and rivers. The Town of Bayfield does NOT treat stormwater before it discharges into the Los Pinos River.
The Town of Bayfield utilizes the 2017 Bayfield Infrastructure Design Standards to determine how new stormwater facilities need to be designed and constructed.

As this document is outdated, the Town has contracted with SGM Engineering to provide and updated Stormwater Feasibility Study in 2024. Click here to read the draft study.
